The idea of AutoSlate was created by David Bernik, who has been video editing since he was 13 years old.​

Having studied film production in Amsterdam, he spent his time working on set and editing films. But as he edited his own projects and helped his friends with theirs, one problem persisted: ​

Organizing all the clips took forever.

Seeing how it severly impacted almost everyone’s motivation to edit further, David, being a bit of an organisation and efficiency nut, decided he had to fix it. And that’s how AutoSlate came to be.
